Merena Fisher

also: Merena (Fisher) Arnholm · Merena Fisher Arnholm

Born 1903-03-03 in Burlington, Vermont, one of about ten Fisher children of Joseph Fisher and Aurelia Trombly. The Trombly maiden name is the anglicized form of the French-Canadian Tremblay, and the cluster of Fisher-Trombly siblings in Burlington fits the broader French-Canadian migration into Chittenden County across the late nineteenth century. Married Charles Arthur Arnholm Sr. in 1922, two years after his first wife's death; she was 19, he was 31. Had at least four children with him (Merena, Hope, Bernard, Ronald) over seventeen years. Outlived Charles Sr. by 40 years; died at age 81 in Berlin VT in 1984. Buried with her husband at Hope Cemetery, Hillcrest Lot 43.
